WHAT TO EXPECT
Here is some
of what you can expect as an attendee of National Convention.
|
Chapter Bazaar
Expect
to see the many chapters of Phi Sigma Pi in one room at
the Chapter Bazaar. With the bazaar, chapters sell
their chapter T-shirts, buttons, and other Fraternity
merchandise. At the 2005 Convention in Atlanta,
each chapter had their own table in which they were able
to display items and such. It is also one of the
best opportunities to showcase some of things that you
chapter does throughout the year. Some chapters
show pictures of their events via laptop, while other
chapters such as Gamma Theta took the time to handout
CDs hyping their interchapter events (in this case Gamma
Theta Mardi Gras Bash.) It is a plethora of
activity with brothers, alumni, and national office
members everywhere.

Graduating Senior
Reception and Presidential Alumni Reception
A time to recognize the
alumni brothers and graduating seniors. Gives
alumni and the soon to be alumni a chance to feel as if
they will forever be apart of the fraternity, even if
their time as a collegiate member is coming to a close.
|
|
Leadership Institute
The
Leadership Institute is one of the most informative
aspects of Convention. It is an opportunity to
not only get new ideas from other chapters, but also get
new, potentially innovative ideas from the National
Office. Brothers can learn a lot from the
Leadership institute. Ideas on Alumni Relations,
Membership Drives, and Service are just a few of the
topics that are discussed.
|
|
Awards Banquet
An opportunity to honor the
chapters for their hard work and accomplishment.
You will learn much about what other chapters have been
able to do, and even see a bit of Phi Sigma Pi History
while you are there. It is an event that cannot be
missed.
|
|
AFTER HOURS
Brother's have the
opportunity to dance the night away, with a DJ, dance
floor, and music playing in the background.
Last year also saw a Poker Tournament during the after
hours party, so who knows what this year will bring.
|
|
Closing
Ceremony and Farewell
All good
things must come to an end unfortunately. Here,
the brothers will link arms and sing the fraternal song,
and slowly but surely, get ready to head home.
