Teach For America is a collection of recent college graduates of all majors who will commit two years to teach in public schools, either urban or rural.  The purpose and mission of Teach for America is to eliminate both short-term and long-term educational inequity. 

Members of Teach For America Corps will take Leadership roles, impacting not only the lives of children, but also their schools and the communities in which they live.  Corp members benefit in that they will receive an understanding as to what difficulties that today’s students face in the world, whether in the classroom or outside the classroom.  With this understanding, corp. members will not only have an opportunity to receive a deeper understanding of society, they will also have the chance to make a difference and do their part to better that society.
