AIM MEETING ETIQUETTE

AOL Instant Messenger is a free instant messaging service in which users are able to converse with other users instantly.  With it, a user in the State of Georgia can communicate with another user who is in Japan.  Because of that, and its chat room feature in which many AIM users are able to communicate with one another at the same time, AOL Instant Messenger can be utilized as a median for regional committee meetings.  The simple fact it that it is impossible for chapter members in one state to physically meet on a regular basis with other delegates in another state.  Thanks to AIM though, such a limitation is no longer an issue, for although we cannot physically meet with other delegates, delegates cans still instantly communicate ideas and thoughts to one another.

When utilizing AIM as a median for regional committee meetings, there is a certain etiquette that all participants/delegates should use.

1.  Show up to any chat room meeting a few minutes early.  This way, a chat can be opened and the Regional Committee Meeting can start on time.

2.  Stick to the Meeting Agenda.  If  you would like for the committee to cover something, make a note of it and bring it up in new business.

3.  Come Prepared to Participate.  Regional delegates are the voices of their respective chapters, so to ensure the chapter has a voice, be prepared to participate in discussion.

4.  Represent your Chapter Well.  As stated earlier, Regional Delegates are the voices of their respective chapters.  It is Massively important for these delegates to best represent their chapters.
